About Us

An initiative of real
benefit to the
community

CleanStart is a Social Enterprise set up by Trafford Housing Trust to clear and clean its empty properties. The Trust employs ex-offenders from the community to carry out this work.

Social enterprises are local community businesses that want to do some social good with any profit made. However, social enterprises are much more than a business, they help employ, train and nurture unemployed people to become more economically active.

If we are to create neighbourhoods which are going to be sustainable for the long term, we need to look at the wider social and economic issues which contribute to their sustainability.

Why Social Enterprise?

  • To reduce crime
  • Create sustainable communities
  • Create a viable business

What do we offer?

  • The initiative contributes to a reduction in crime
  • The social enterprise will grow into a viable business
